Job Purpose

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the upkeep and improvement of company-owned and managed multi-unit commercial buildings, ensuring they remain safe, functional, and cost-efficient. This role involves performing routine maintenance and repairs on both the interior and exterior of one or more facilities to support optimal building operations.

Responsibilities

  • Building Maintenance & Repairs: Inspect, troubleshoot, and maintain building systems, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, fire sprinklers, security systems, and general property upkeep.
  • Work Order Management: Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and manuals to prioritize, schedule, and document maintenance tasks.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform scheduled maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Contractor Coordination: Work with outside contractors for repairs and maintenance tasks that cannot be performed in-house.
  • Tenant & Emergency Response: Address tenant requests for heating and cooling issues, respond promptly to emergencies, and ensure all facilities maintain a high standard of cleanliness and safety.

Requirements

  • Experience: At least three years of maintenance experience in commercial property management.
  • Education: High school diploma, GED, or a one-year certificate required.
  • Licensing & Insurance: Must have a valid OH driver’s license, automobile liability insurance, and a safe driving record.
  • Tools & Equipment: Must provide own basic hand tools and have experience safely operating hand tools, power tools, and related equipment.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of building maintenance, repair techniques, and troubleshooting for electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.
